Assert
ASSERT (B&H) provides advice, support and advocacy to autistic adults and their families in Brighton & Hove.
The charity is involved with the development of the autism strategy at a local level and Assert is on Brighton and Hove's Autism Partnership Board. There is a high level of service user involvement within the charity. People may access the charity in relation to obtaining advice in the areas of: benefits, housing, education, employment, liaison, diagnosis and more.
ASSERT aims to promote independence and decrease isolation often experienced by those with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). There is a dedicated volunteer scheme; volunteers are welcome to apply (subject to DBS checks). There is also a benefits case worker to support with benefits advice & applications.
